What are accounts and how is it different from users?

Solution

When you log in to the ezeio system, you log in as a user.

Every user should use a personal log in name and a good password. User login information should not be shared with anyone. Every individual should keep his/her own credentials. Each user can be assigned more or less privileges to be able to access certain functionality. For example some users may only be able to view information, while others have the ability to change settings.

Accounts are identified by a simple number, three or four digits long.

To log in, you need the account number, your log in name and your password.

An account in the ezeio system can be accessed by multiple users. There is no maximum limit to the number of individual users on a single account, but there has to be at least one user with administrative rights. The admin user can always change settings on the account, and is able to change and remove other users.

Every ezeio also needs to be assigned to an account. Again, there is no limit to the number of ezeio's that can be assigned to a single account.

The account is simply a way of grouping together users and ezeio's.

There is no cost associated with accounts or users. If you manage many controllers, it may be convenient to keep them under one account, but you may also create one account for each ezeio if the different units needs to be accessed by different sets of users.
